Throughout my career as a DJ I have learned many things. One of the most memorable things is that it has kept me focused on what is important in life and kept me on a path other than drugs and gangs. It has been an important part of my life and as such I am now giving back to others. What started as a small favor has grown into something bigger than I ever anticipated and has blessed me with an opportunity to give back to my community.

It started with a recent drive from three 14 year olds who I took under my wing as “DJs in Training.” Since that time, I have received numerous requests from others to join in the program. With opportunity, there also comes a cost, one that I refuse to pass on to anyone in the program. To help fund current and potential participants in the program, I have launched a GoFundMe campaign, the goal of which is to raise $10,000. Proceeds are to be used for additional equipment to take on additional participants.

This is only the beginning as I look to take on additional DJs as mentors and also hope to expand to other communities in the future.
